Operating across central/south Manchester, Salford and north Trafford, Furry Feet offers regular or occasional dog-walking, pet-sitting at your pet’s home and small animal boarding at Furry Feet HQ. If you have a dog and are going on holiday, a house-sitting service is also available on selected dates to save your canine chum a trip to the kennels. Dog and cat-boarding is not available at this time but watch this space!
Furry Feet is a member of NARP, the National Association of Registered Pet-Sitters – www.dogsit.com. This membership includes a 24/7 vet advice line and a £2million insurance policy for added peace of mind.
Furry Feet is owned and operated by myself, Lucy Palmer. I’ve had pets for over 20 years and, with my partner Marc, currently share the family home with Ellie the 17-year-old long-haired black cat, an adorable kitten-like OAP who we adopted last year from friends who moved abroad. We also have Bunny, a gorgeous five-year-old grey rabbit who I’ve had since he was a baby. Bun runs free in a huge garage which leads off our kitchen and has recently been joined by Betty, a sprightly one-year-old white rabbit who we adopted from neighbours. We also have a large tank of tropical fish.
We don’t have a dog as Ellie wouldn’t stand for it. However, I am a volunteer at Manchester Dogs’ Home helping out at events and with the “Doggy PR” team to help find homes for the homeless hounds. I have also volunteered at the Society for Abandoned Animals in Sale, looking after the rabbits, and have been a member of the PDSA for as long as I can remember.
To further my understanding of animal behavior and to add to my existing qualifications, I have passed (with distinction!) a Diploma in Professional Pet-sitting (run by www.coape.co.uk) and have also completed an animal first aid course.
